  1. Update / Arrest- LCSO Seeks Information in 1988 Homicide of Henry "Ricky" Ryan

    **Update** Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) Cold Case Detectives identified and indicted Timothy W. Warnick, 58, for the 1988 murder of Henry E. Ryan. Warnick was indicted by a Loudoun County Grand Jury on June 13, 2016, on charges of 1st Degree murder and robbery. Henry “Ricky” Ryan was last seen on Friday, September 30th, 1988, leaving a roadside pull off along the Shenandoah river on Bloomery Road in West Virginia. This was an area where Ricky Ryan and other local people gathered to drink and use drugs. According to witnesses, Mr. Ryan went on a beer run in the company of Timothy Warnick and another unidentified male and never came back. He was reported missing by his family several days later. On March 14th, 1989 his body was found in a shallow grave off of Route 9 on the Loudoun County, VA side of the Blue Ridge Mountains. An autopsy confirmed that he was murdered.
