Basic Career Services at the WRC are open to everyone; there are no income guidelines or residency requirements attached. This includes attending workshops, resume critiques, mock interviews and employment coaching.
Individualized Services at the WRC are available to eligible customers who either meet financial guidelines or are unemployed due to a lay-off situation or otherwise displace from the workforce according to the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.

One-on-one staff assistance to navigate the WRC programs and services is currently available, during normal business hours in-person, via phone, email or on a virtual platform. This includes an assessment of your career related needs to make recommendations, referrals, and next steps to support your employment goals.

Occupational skills training, English as a Second Language courses and IT-related certificate trainings are offered throughout the Northern Virginia area from a variety of training providers. You may be eligible to receive Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) program funding for these types of training if you are eligible for WIOA individualized services. Yes, you can. There are no residency requirements to use the services of the WRC.
The WRC is not a staffing agency or a recruiting firm. However, the WRC staff will assist you in identifying area employers who typically hire employees with similar skills and career experience as yours. The WRC has weekly job posting on our online Job Opportunities page, sign up to have the weekly postings delivered to your email, or on our Center's bulletin board. Once you have applied for one of these positions listed in our job postings, please complete this form and submit to the Employer Services Coordinator for potential support in facilitating a connection with employers.

Yes, the WRC provides job search guidance and resources to ex-offenders. The Federal Bonding Program (FBP) is also available through the WRC. FBP provides fidelity bonds to employers on behalf of the employee who has a criminal conviction. The bond provides the employer with $5,000 of coverage during the first 6 months of employment at no cost to either the employer or the job applicant. Extensions of the fidelity bond coverage may be possible after the initial 6 months on a case-by-case basis.
