LCSO Investigating Circumstances Surrounding Assault, Gunfire in Sterling Area
Loudoun County, Virginia (April 4, 2022) – The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an assault that is believed to have occurred in the Sterling area Friday night.
Around 7:30 p.m. on April 1, an adult male arrived at the emergency room of the Lansdowne Campus of Inova Loudoun Hospital for injuries from an assault. He was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released.
The adult male victim initially reported he was involved in a traffic altercation where he was assaulted, and the subject discharged a firearm. It was later learned that the incident possibly took place outside of a residence in the Sterling area, but no location was provided, and the victim did not provide further details.
On Saturday evening, the LCSO responded to the area of Eaton Terrace in Sterling where a resident discovered their vehicle was damaged by a discharged round from a firearm. Additional information was received from a third party that a firearm was discharged on Eaton Terrace Friday night. There were no incidents reported to law enforcement in that area on April 1.
At this time, detectives with the LCSO believe the two cases are possibly connected and are asking any witnesses or anyone with information regarding the circumstances surrounding the assault to contact Detective M. Grimsley with the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office at 703-777-1021.
