Loudoun Election Officials Issue Reminders to Voters in June 4 Elections

Loudoun County election officials have several reminders for voters in the towns of Lovettsville, Middleburg and Purcellville ahead of the municipal elections Thursday, June 4, 2020.

Absentee Voting

  • Voters who requested a ballot be mailed to them are encouraged to vote and return the ballot to Office of Elections and Voter Registration, 750 Miller Drive SE, Suite C, in Leesburg by the deadline of 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 4. Voters may contact election officials upon arrival or place the ballot in a secure box in the lobby.

“Returning the absentee ballot to our office will help reduce the number of people appearing at the polling place on election day and will also help our efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19.  Also, for anyone who has been issued an absentee ballot and shows up in person to vote at their polling place, it will take longer to complete the voting process.  If you have your ballot with you, it must be voided and replaced with a ballot from the precinct. If you arrive without the ballot, you will be required to vote a provisional ballot,” said Loudoun County General Registrar Judy Brown.

In-Person Voting

For voters choosing to vote at their precinct on election day:

  • Voters will be required to wear a face covering. If a voter has a medical condition and can’t wear a face covering, curbside voting will be offered or election officials will direct the voter to a location inside, away from others, to vote.
  • Social distancing measures will be in place in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, limiting the number of voters allowed inside at any given time, so it may take longer than usual to complete the voting process. Also, voters are encouraged to wear a face covering when entering the polling place to vote.
  • Polls are open from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The locations are:
    • Lovettsville: Lovettsville Game Protective Association, 16 S. Berlin Turnpike, Lovettsville.
    • Middleburg: Middleburg Town Office, 10 W. Marshall Street, Middleburg.
    • Purcellville: Bush Tabernacle (Skating Rink), 250 S. Nursery Avenue, Purcellville.
  • Bring your photo ID.
