Due to ridership declines as a result of the ongoing efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19 and the governor’s directives for Virginians to stay home, Loudoun County Transit is making the following changes to the Local Fixed Route Service:

  • Route 72, providing service from Wiehle-Reston East Metrorail station to George Washington University, One Loudoun and the Ashburn North Park and Ride lot, will reduce the number of buses on the route from three buses operating 15-30 minutes apart to one bus operating 60 minutes between trips.
  • Routes 990 and 992, providing service from Wiehle-Reston East Metrorail station to employment sites in Loudoun County on Loudoun County Parkway and Pacific Boulevard, will suspend operations until further notice.
  • Routes 993 and 994, providing service from Wiehle-Reston East Metrorail station to and from the Loudoun County Government Center, will suspend operations until further notice.

Although Loudoun County Transit continues to be available to serve Loudoun County residents who have no alternate way to travel during the COVID-19 pandemic, passengers are reminded that the most effective way to prevent the spread of illnesses is to follow the recommendations from public health officials. If you are not feeling well or have symptoms of illness, please stay home and avoid taking public transportation.

Over the coming weeks, Loudoun County Transit will continue to monitor ridership and services for possible additional changes. Stay up to date about any service changes or modified schedules at loudoun.gov/buschanges.
