On Saturday, March 7, 2020, the Loudoun County Combined Fire and Rescue System was informed that a System member had come in contact with an individual outside of Loudoun County who has since tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Out of an abundance of caution, the System member, who has no symptoms of illness, has been self-quarantined since learning of the exposure yesterday morning and poses no threat to Loudoun County residents or fellow first responders. Specific details about the individual will not be released to protect the System member’s privacy. It is important to keep in mind that there have been no confirmed COVID-19 cases in Loudoun County.
Loudoun County government officials are working closely with their regional and state partners to coordinate communications and resources and effectively respond to the situation.
