Loudoun Clerk of the Circuit Court Gary M. Clemens invites the public to attend “Honoring Loudoun’s Heroes,” a special military veterans’ exhibition in the county’s historic courthouse Friday, September 6, 2019, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. The Historic Records and Deed Research Division exhibition will take place during the town of Leesburg’s First Friday event and is being held in conjunction with the Loudoun County War Memorial Trust Fund Committee’s dedication of new lighting for Loudoun’s war memorials on the courthouse grounds scheduled for 7:30 p.m. September 6, 2019.
The exhibition will include displays from the Thomas Balch Library, Oatlands Plantation and Gardens, Loudoun Freedom Center, General George C. Marshall House and the American Legion. Records on display will include pension records from the War of 1812 and Mexican-American War and a rare Revolutionary War pension application from an African-American solider.
Honoring Loudoun’s Heroes is sponsored by the Clerk of the Circuit Court and Loudoun’s World War II 75th Anniversary Committee.
