Loudoun County, VA – Two women have been charged with distribution of a controlled substance into the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center at the beginning of July 2019.
Stephanie A. Balcazar, 28, of Sterling and Bryanna A. Hunter, 26, of Washington, DC, were both charged with distribution of a controlled substance into a correctional facility and attempted possession of a chemical compound by a prisoner.
Over a two week period, deputies from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office intercepted several letters addressed to inmates at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center (ADC) which contained Suboxone sublingual film hidden among the letters. Members of the LCSO Tactical Enforcement Unit conducted an investigation which found that Balcazar was sending letters containing Suboxone to Hunter, an inmate at the ADC.
Suboxone is a medication traditionally used to provide pain relief and treat addiction to opioid drugs, however, it is often abused and can be addictive.
Balcazar was taken into custody at her residence without incident.
Balcazar and Hunter remain held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center without bond.
