Ashburn Man Charged with October 31st Assault
Loudoun County, VA- Detectives with the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit arrested an Ashburn man Friday night after he had inappropriate contact with a juvenile on Halloween.
Seyed Vafaei, 68, of Ashburn was charged with Assault and Battery in connection with the October 31 incident which occurred in the area of Tournament Pkwy and Palmer Classic Pkwy in Ashburn. The juvenile victim reported she was walking in the neighborhood with her friends when the suspect approached them. Vafaei offered the victim candy and placed it in the victim’s bag. As the victim attempted to catch up with her friends, Vafaei grabbed the victim's hand and kissed her on the cheek. The victim pulled away from Vafaei and caught up to her friends. The incident was reported to the LCSO the following day.
The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office has since discovered possible additional encounters. Vafaei has been seen in the community riding a bicycle wearing goggles. Anyone with any information regarding this case is asked to contact Detective C. Czekaj at 703-777-0475.
Vafaei is currently being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on no bond.
