Suspect Identified in Attempted Robbery & Robbery at Sterling Pharmacies
Loudoun County, VA – A Fairfax County man is facing charges in connection with a robbery and attempted robbery at two separate pharmacies in Sterling on Monday.
Shawn C. McMahon, 34, currently resides in Great Falls and was identified as being involved in the robberies during a traffic stop conducted by the Fairfax County Police Department. McMahon was charged in Fairfax last night with possession of a Schedule I Narcotic and possession of drug paraphernalia.
After his arrest in Fairfax County and a subsequent investigation, Detectives with the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office obtained warrants in Loudoun County for felony charges of robbery and attempted robbery.
The charges stem from two cases in Loudoun County on November 20. In the first case, the suspect entered the Rite Aid located in the 46000 block of Cedar Lake Plaza around 11 a.m. and handed the pharmacist a note which implied he had a gun. The note demanded prescription medication. The suspect left empty-handed. Shortly after 12 p.m., the same suspect entered the CVS located in the 400 block of Enterprise Street. He again handed the pharmacist a note implying he had a gun and demanded prescription narcotic medications. The suspect was given prescription medication before fleeing.
McMahon is currently being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on no bond.
