Loudoun County, VA- A nearly three-month long investigation conducted by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) Tactical Enforcement Unit has removed marijuana, cocaine, and two firearms from the streets of the county and one suspect is in custody on multiple felony charges.
On January 10, the LCSO conducted a search warrant at a residence located in the 46900 block of Shady Point Square in Sterling. Recovered from the apartment was ¼ pound of marijuana, approximately 3.5 grams of cocaine, $17,415 in cash and two handguns. One of the firearms was reported stolen from another jurisdiction.
A short time prior to the execution of the search warrant, the suspect, Lavonte L. Masunda, 32, was apprehended during a traffic stop in the area of Church Road and Cascades Parkway without incident. Masunda was charged with two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a stolen firearm, four counts of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of cocaine.
Masunda remains held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on no bond.
