Suspect Wanted in Ashburn Shooting Apprehended in Georgia
Loudoun County, Va.-An Ashburn man wanted in connection with the July 29, 2018, shooting at an Ashburn apartment complex was apprehended this week in Georgia.
Edgar M. Vargas, 29, of Ashburn, was wanted on charges of aggravated malicious wounding and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony after a shooting in the 21000 block of Green Stable Square in Ashburn.
In the incident, Vargas was in a verbal altercation with an adult male in an apartment. During the argument, the suspect shot the victim in the abdominal area and fled the scene. The victim was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Vargas was apprehended by the Hinesville Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service on October 23. He remains held pending extradition to Virginia.
