Loudoun County, VA- The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a Sterling, Virginia man in a 15-year-old cold case involving the sexual abuse of a child.
Kevin O’Connor, 62, who was indicted on August 13 by a Loudoun County Grand Jury, was arrested today and charged with sexual assault by force, two counts of aggravated sexual battery, two counts of aggravated sexual battery while incapacitated (asleep), and two counts of taking indecent liberties with a child.
The victim was between 13 and 15-years-old at the time of the sexual abuse.
The case was initially reported to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office in May 2003 and prosecution was declined due to insufficient evidence at the time. The case was reexamined in 2012 and further investigative leads were developed through numerous interviews leading to Monday’s indictment.
O’Connor remains held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on no bond.
