Loudoun County, VA – Members of the Loudoun County Public Safety Community are advising residents of upcoming coverage testing for the current Public Safety Radio Communications System.
Beginning today, county employees will be driving the vehicles throughout every square mile of Loudoun County to test the coverage of the system. The vehicles include a marked Sheriff’s Office Ford Crown Victoria, a marked Sheriff’s Office Chevrolet Tahoe and a silver unmarked Sheriff’s Office Dodge Intrepid. The testing is expected to be completed by June 1st.
The goal of the testing is to confirm the vendor has met contract coverage requirements negotiated with the county. A county employee (driver) and witness will be in each of the vehicles. The driver and witness will be from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office or Fire, Rescue & Emergency Management. One representative from the vendor will be in each vehicle. During the testing county vehicles may cross over onto private property to ensure coverage requirements are met in these areas.
If you have questions or concerns regarding the verification of a radio testing vehicle on your property, please call the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office at 703-777-1021.
