COVID-19 Summary Report for April 20, 2020

Case Update
Loudoun County Update
  • Stay up-to-date on the COVID-19 response from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The COVID-19 Outbreak continues to be a rapidly evolving situation and information will be updated on the CDC website as it becomes available. Some recent updates include:
    • Guidance for people living together in close quarters, such as people who share a small apartment, or for people who live in the same household with large or extended families. Get the CDC guidance.
    • Advice for people caring for someone with COVID-19 in non-healthcare settings. Learn what to do when someone has symptoms of COVID-19 or when someone has been diagnosed with the virus. Get the CDC advice.
  • The Virginia Department of Health continues to enhance the presentation of data on its website, adding details regarding COVID-19 cases in Virginia. This includes the number of people tested, total cases, total hospitalizations, and total deaths. Additionally, the website reports cases by age group and hospitalizations, cases by sex and hospitalizations, cases by race and hospitalizations, test results by health district, and outbreaks in Virginia.
  • The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors' April 21, 2020 business meeting will be conducted as an "electronic meeting" pursuant to the Emergency Ordinance adopted by the Board. Members of the public who would like to provide comments to the Board of Supervisors at the meeting are encouraged to do so remotely in keeping with the county's efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19. Anyone who would like to participate in the meeting remotely may sign up to do so by contacting the Office of the County Administrator at 703-777-0200 no later than noon, Tuesday, April 21, 2020.   • Loudoun County Board of Supervisors Chair Phyllis J. Randall and Loudoun County Economic Development Executive Director Buddy Rizer will co-host a Facebook Live Question and Answer Session on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at 3pm.   • The Town of Hillboro and VDOT have agreed to a full closure of Route 9 within Hillsboro to align with Governor Northam's ongoing "stay-at-home" executive order, which has resulted in a significant reduction in daily traffic on Route 9. Full closure within the town and implementation of detours start on or about May 4 and will last into mid-to late June. Visit for details on the closure and detours.
