Temporary Path Closure Along Belmont Ridge Road Begins September 11

Posted on September 6, 2023 at 4:49 PM by Heidi Kellum

Starting on or about Monday, September 11, 2023, the shared use path along the east side of Belmont Ridge Road will close temporarily between Croson Lane and Cochrans Lock Drive. The path closure will allow crews to complete work associated with the Belmont Ridge Road improvement project. The path will reopen when work is completed, on or about Friday, September 15, weather permitting.

About the Project

This project reconstructs and widens Belmont Ridge Road between Truro Parish Drive and Croson Lane from the existing two-lane rural road to a modern four-lane, median-divided, suburban roadway, with shared-use paths for pedestrians and bicyclists on each side. Project benefits include alleviating traffic in the corridor, providing active transportation solutions, and connecting commuters to major activity and employment centers.

Funding for this regionally significant project is from Loudoun County, NVTA and the state’s Revenue Sharing Program administered by VDOT-LAP. Construction is expected to be completed by summer 2024.
