Interior and Exterior Work is Underway on New Animal Services Facility

In the last month, crews completed the majority of the structural work for the new Animal Services Facility and began installing interior mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.

The contractor is currently placing steel bar joists that will support the roofing and flooring systems. Work to install exterior systems that protect the structure from weather is underway and should be completed in the next few months.

Structural Supports Go Up at New Animal Services Facility Site

Dustin Construction, Loudoun County’s contractor for the new Animal Services Facility project, has completed the majority of the foundation work and the geothermal well.

Currently, crews are installing non-structural concrete masonry unit blocks to create walls and are erecting structural steel. The site grade, slab work and underslab mechanical, electrical, and plumbing, are scheduled to be completed within the next month.

Animal Services Facility Groundbreaking

A ceremonial groundbreaking to celebrate the start of construction for the new Animal Services facility that will serve as the primary location of Loudoun County Animal Services (LCAS) was held on May 30, 2019 in Leesburg. Members of the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors joined with other officials, Loudoun County government staff, members of the project team and members of the community for the groundbreaking.
