The contract to complete the construction of the new Lovettsville community center was awarded to Crisak, Incorporated on November 18, 2020. Notice to Proceed with construction was issued on January 25, 2021 and crews will begin mobilizing to the project site the week of February 1, 2021. Only construction traffic will utilize the community center’s existing asphalt driveway.

For the next several weeks, construction activities will include the installation of construction safety fence, reestablishing erosion and sediment control measures and site demolition.

Construction is currently estimated for completion in mid-2022, weather permitting.

The Lovettsville Community Center project will design and construct a new community center building in the Town of Lovettsville, replacing the existing building. The new community center will be over 15,000 square feet and will have a full-size gymnasium, five classrooms, a multipurpose room, a kitchen, administrative offices, meeting space and storage areas. The project also includes a 600-square-foot addition and renovation to the existing 1,200-square-foot Pool House.
