The CARE Program provides temporary assistance to residents of Loudoun County who are temporarily unable to provide veterinary care for their beloved companion animals. The program strives to preserve the bond between owners and their companion animals by providing temporary financial assistance, with the goal of keeping pets in loving homes.
How Loudoun County Animal Services Can Help
The CARE Program provides temporary financial assistance for the treatment of illness or injury and to provide necessary prescription medications for the companion animals of approved CARE recipients. Once approved, CARE recipients will receive a voucher valid at participating veterinary clinics. CARE funds are limited and are provided on a first come, first served basis to approved CARE recipients only. Download a CARE application (PDF).
If you are interested in having your dog or cat spayed or neutered but cannot afford to do so, the CARE spay/neuter program can help. Loudoun County residents can receive a spay/neuter voucher at the shelter during business hours. Vouchers cover spay/neuter costs only, vaccines, blood-work or other medical conditions are not covered. Vouchers must be used within 90 days and are only valid at participating partner vets. To request a voucher please come to the shelter during business hours. Proof of Loudoun County residence is required.
