About the Department

The Department of Community Corrections offers the judiciary a variety of programs for nonviolent offenders. These programs help save jail space in the adult detention center and allow offenders to maintain their jobs, support their families, and provide restitution to the crime victims and to the community. Offenders are provided with:

  • Substance abuse assessment, education and group counseling
  • Assistance with driver's license reinstatement
  • Domestic violence group counseling
  • Monitoring of other special conditions ordered by the court

Pretrial can supervise both misdemeanor and felony cases, as a condition of bond. Probation typically supervises Class 1 and 2 misdemeanors and also serves Class 5 and 6 felony offenses. Cases are referred from Loudoun County General District Court, Juvenile & Domestic Relations Court, and Circuit Court.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to develop, establish, and maintain community-based corrections programs that provide sanctions and alternatives to incarceration, and to provide leadership and coordination throughout the criminal justice community.
