2020 Trainings on Reversing Opioid Overdoses Scheduled
Loudoun County continues its series of opioid overdose reversal trainings. The next REVIVE! session originally scheduled for March 26, 2020, has been canceled. Once a new date is selected, it will be posted here.
The training is open to everyone. Anyone who uses opioids or knows someone who is using opioids is encouraged to attend. Seating is limited. Those interested in attending must pre-register at the link above. The training is open only to pre-registered participants.
The free, one-hour training covers:
Signs of opioid overdose.
How to respond to an opioid overdose emergency with the administration of naloxone, a drug that can be used to treat narcotic overdoses in emergency situations.
Also,anyone who completes the training will be eligible to receive free naloxone nasal spray. Representatives of the Loudoun County Health Department will be available after the training to provide a supply of naloxone to those registered participants who completed the training.
"REVIVE!" is the Opioid Overdose and Naloxone Education program for the Commonwealth of Virginia. MHSADS, the Loudoun County Community Services Board and the Loudoun County Health Department are sponsoring the local training session.
