The Loudoun County Circuit Court hears bond appeals from the lower courts. Once appealed, these matters are placed on the first available scheduling docket in the Circuit Court.
Appeals received before 1:00 p.m. on Friday will be placed on the first available scheduling docket in the Circuit Court (typically Tuesday morning scheduling).
Appeals received after 1:00 p.m. on Friday will not be placed on the following Tuesday morning scheduling docket, but will be placed on the next available scheduling docket after that Tuesday.
Attorneys will be notified by the Circuit Court Clerk's Office of their scheduling date. Attorney's must provide the court with the location of the defendant and must advise if a transportation order is needed.
In the Loudoun County Circuit Court, bond motions are either placed on the scheduling docket or on the Criminal Motions Docket (Fourth Friday of the month).
Bond motions are to be filed in the Criminal Division located on the third floor of the Clerk's Office. A praecipe (PDF) must be filed along with the motion in order to have the matter placed on the docket. Praecipes must be filed at least one week in advance of the requested court date. Bond motions filed without a praecipe will not be placed on the docket.
Scheduling Docket - Tuesday mornings at 9:00 a.m.
Criminal Motions Day - Fourth Friday of the month (except November and December)
