About the Commissioner of Accounts
- The Commissioner of Accounts is a court-appointed attorney who has the legal responsibility to oversee your actions as a Personal Representative to ensure that you preserve the Estate assets and perform your duties as required by law.
- This means that you must file an Inventory and First and/or subsequent Accountings with the Commissioner, for review and approval.
- Upon approval, these Inventory and Accounting documents are filed with the Probate Clerk.
- The Probate Clerk will record these documents and they become public records.
