Home-Delivered Meals

About the Program

The Home-Delivered Meals Program is available to eligible Loudoun County residents who meet the following three requirements:

  • Are 60 and over
  • Cannot prepare their own meals for medical and/or physical reasons, and have no other assistance available
  • Homebound and cannot attend a senior center in their area for meals. Transportation to senior centers is available but may be limited.

Meals

  • Volunteers deliver a hot, nutritious, noontime meal, Monday through Friday. Frozen meals are available for older residents who live outside the daily meal delivery area.
  • Although there is no fee required, donations are accepted here and appreciated.
  • Eligibility is determined by an in-home assessment conducted by a qualified Area Agency on Aging Program specialist.

Volunteers

Deliver a few smiles within a few miles!

Volunteer opportunities for the Home-Delivered Meals Program are available at numerous locations throughout the county. Meals are prepared, packaged, and delivered to local communities and county sites for distribution by volunteers. Delivery times vary depending on the location of the site. Individuals may volunteer for as little as one hour per month, week, or day. A Home-Delivered Meals volunteer provides more than a daily meal to older residents, they provide the gift of friendship.
